Down with capitalism!
But not quite away with it though.
Upon reflection of the current state of affairs many people come to the conclusion that capitalism is the root of our ills and they are not exactly incorrect. However, I have the belief that it is not all of capitalism but certain manifestations of capitalism.
One variety that has become widespread and dominant i call Maximal Capitalism. This is where the bottom line is always in sight, those who manifest this approach will do anything to maximize profits and growth. The result is a situation where every node in the business network is minimized - suppliers are squeezed, workers are paid just enough, other corners might be cut. When one business is successful at this others around it have to practice the same behavior or fail.
It is called "good business" but it is excessively better for a few compared to the many who contribute and many more who suffer for it.
This system takes a shape of a pyramid or cone which functions as a funnel, sucking value from the many to hoard by the few. When individuals hold onto billions of dollars, that money is no longer a part of the system. It no longer circulates in the communities that generate it.
What if economies were more circular rather that conic? Money spent in a community benefited the community instead of being sucked away and centralized.
Capitalism could be fair, it could serve communities instead of using them.
What would it look like to have an expression of capitalism that is circular and more locally beneficial?
Let's tell each other stories about how it could work.
